Game and Market Development Administrator

Cricket Victoria is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations and carries the responsibility of developing cricket throughout the State. The Game and Market Development Department is responsible for promoting and facilitating the expansion of community cricket at all levels within Victoria to underpin growth and participation, as well as the success of the Victorian and Australian teams.

Due to a promotion within Australian Cricket we are seeking an experienced Administrator to provide generalist administrative support to the entire Game and Market Development Department. This is a great, varied and fast paced role that is a fundamental part of the team!

Duties of this position include:

  • Manage the General Manager's diary
  • Provide administration assistance to the Game and Market Development Department
  • Assist with presentations e.g. for conferences, meetings and committees
  • Compile and coordinate the monthly E-newsletter distributed to clubs and associations
  • Attend and assist at hospitality events as required
  • Organise and manage the annual Game and Market Development conference, including conference location/venue, accommodation, meals, manage budget allocation, coordinate and produce agenda and assist with reading materials

To be successful in this role you may hold a tertiary qualification in Business or a related discipline and have demonstrable administration experience in previous positions. In addition to this, you will have exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to develop relationships with all stakeholders. Victoria to underpin growth and participation, as well as the success of the Victorian and Australian teams.

We are seeking a dynamic and progressive Game and Market Development Manager. In this position you will be able to demonstrate your skills and assist at setting the agenda for Game Development of Cricket Victoria. A natural networker, your strategic communication and influencing skills underpin your ability to effectively manage relationships in complex environments. This position reports directly to the General Manager Game and Market Development.

Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline, you will have extensive experience working in this area (preferably in a sporting environment), along with a proven ability to write, design, implement and review innovative initiatives. In addition to this, you will have exceptional written and verbal
communication, and the ability to develop relationships with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Drive the club and association engagement with the Game and Market Development Department
  • Develop key partnerships and relationships with Local Government
  • Engage with clubs, associations and regions on participation initiatives to meet strategic objectives
  • Work together with internal Game and Market Development Department staff and Cricket Australia to help support the health of cricket communities within Victoria
  • Manage budgets and regional resources to deliver on strategic goals
  • Develop and lead a team of Regional Cricket Managers and Participation Growth Leaders to ensure professional and personal goals are met

You will be energetic, outgoing and able to bring with you a network of relevant contacts. Your people management experience will be substantial, as will your ability to build relationships internal and external. Your interest in cricket will also assist in making you the ideal candidate.

Human Resources Manager

Cricket Victoria is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations and carries the responsibility of developing cricket throughout the state. From grassroots cricket, to the State's elite teams, the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers and VicSpirit; we nurture, promote and grow the sport.

We are seeking a progressive Human Resources Manager who is ready to make a difference and can hit the ground running. Ideally, you operate with a sense of urgency, are an advocate for the HR Brand within the business and have a reputation for getting things done. Reporting to the CEO and part of the senior management team, this is a stand-alone role and as such you will be comfortable working independently and able to give advice across a broad range of HR issues.

The ideal candidate will have a generalist background and have experience in:

  • Developing and executing the HR strategy
  • Management of training and development at all levels
  • Managing internal programs for the business including staff benefits
  • Management of all recruitment
  • Developing and rolling out a wide range of HR systems and processes
  • Managing the OHS requirements; and
  • ER/IR case management.

To be successful in this autonomous role, you will have:

  • Worked in a stand-alone HR position
  • Experience in developing and executing strategy
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing HR Policy to support business objectives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships at all levels of business
  • Ability to influence and manage conflict in a constructive manner
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty; and
  • Passion for business partnering and managing change for proactive measures to support business objectives.
