CV Club Capacity and Workforce Development Grants announced
Community Cricket Programs: On Common Ground continue to deliver directly to grassroots cricket as the Victorian Government, Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia announce over $250,000 to grassroots cricket clubs across Victoria.
93 clubs will share in $250,000 worth of funding for projects such as new equipment for junior and female cricket teams, pitch upgrades, practice net repairs, rollers, mowers, pitch covers, first aid equipment, volunteer courses, shading and more.
Some clubs to benefit from the funding include; Epping Cricket Club who received $1580 for food handling courses and equipment for the female cricket teams, Kilmore Cricket Club received $5000 to upgrade their turf wicket, Yallourn North Cricket Club Received $1100 to purchase a new mower and Warranwood Cricket Club received $2591 to purchase junior equipment.
Rohan O’Neill, General Manager Game and Market Development of Cricket Victoria said, “It is pleasing to receive so many applications from clubs supporting the growth of junior cricket through entry level programs – in2CRICKET and T20Blast, Junior Formats and new junior girls’ teams and competitions.
“More than two thirds of the grants awarded contribute to minor facilities upgrades and maintenance demonstrating the great work by club administrators to work with local councils on maintaining the quality and standard of cricket facilities”.
Clubs will be able use the funds to develop their projects through 2018 and 2019.
