Australia on the cusp of Ashes whitewash

Australia has an Ashes whitewash in its sights after completing an eight-wicket victory against England at the MCG today.

A superb century from Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers opener Chris Rogers (116) provided the impetus for a 4-0 series lead as he combined with Shane Watson (83*) for a defining 134-run partnership.

Mitchell Johnson was named man-of the-match for his combined figures of 8-88, with 271,865 clicking through the turnstiles to produce the fourth highest attended Ashes Test.
