Day three of VicSpirit Under-18 State Championships

Gippsland defeated the North East Knights by 81 runs on the back of a special bowling performance from Kelsey East who took a hat trick in her figures of 3-5.

East’s teammate Nicole Faltum also chipped in with 3-6 to lead their side to a comfortable victory.

East Metro’s Madeleine Wright didn’t suffer any form loss with the bye, coming out and making 52 to guide her side to a 62-run victory over Central Highlands.

Western Waves had a big win over Mallee Murray Bulls on the back of a well-compiled 51* from Claire Nolte, with Rebecca Langley chiming in with 3-14 in the 141-run victory.

The biggest team score of the day came from the South East Sharks who put 7-240 on the board in their 121-run victory over Northern Rivers.

The runs were set up by opening pair Elly Donald (78) and Amy Yates (62) who combined for a partnership of 127.

South West amassed 166 runs on the board in a 23-run win over South East Metro.

The girls will move onto round five tomorrow, with Gippsland taking on East Metro at Russell Lucas Oval.

Central Highlands will face off with North Metro at Coburg City Oval, whilst Mallee Murray Bulls will host South West at MacPherson Park.

Western Waves will do battle again South East Sharks at Aberfeldie Park, and the final match of the round will be Northern Rivers taking on North East Knights at AK Line Reserve.
