PREVIEW OF FINALS:

Victoria’s Lord’s Taverners Shield side will be playing in their semi final at 10.45am today against Western Australia, where they require a win to advance through to the preliminary final later in the day. Earlier in the week saw the Vics win 119 – 33 (skins 3-1) against WA, a result that they may take some confidence from leading into today’s game.

After losing their first three matches and sitting on the bottom of the ladder, the Victorian 21 & Under Men have turned the tables and since made a comeback, winning five of their last six to make it into the semi finals. They will play NQ in the second semi final of the day at 12.30pm.

Victoria Open Men will face South Australia in the last lot of semi finals today at 2.15pm. Earlier this week these two teams tied on 87 runs apiece in their first clash, followed by the Vics getting up by 14 runs the second time around – both teams putting on a terrific display of talent in each appearance. This is set to be a feature game of the afternoon, with the winning side moving through to the preliminary finals later in the evening.

The Victorian Open Women won two from two yesterday to finish second on the ladder in their division. The Vics have faced QLD twice this week and each side have won one-a-piece. Victoria will be looking to carry momentum into their semi final against Queensland at 4pm, having won their last six games in a row.

Victoria 21 & Under Women lost a nail biter against Western Australia by two runs last night in a contest that could have gone either way. Finishing up with a convincing win against South Australia unfortunately wasn’t enough to grant them a place in the finals, finishing fifth on the Open Women’s ladder.
