MCG price freeze for international cricket tickets this summer

In a win for fans for the upcoming summer of cricket, tickets for the 2015-16 international cricket matches at the MCG have gone on sale with prices kept the same as last season.

The Commonwealth Bank Boxing Day Test will again be the showpiece of the summer with the West Indies returning for the first time since 2000 while there will be a Victoria Bitter One-Day International and a KFC T20 International, both against India, on January 17 and January 29.

Cricket Victoria CEO Tony Dodemaide encouraged Victorian families to take advantage of the value on offer.

“The Boxing Day Test has an unrivalled following and we’re really happy that fans will be able to enjoy the showpiece of summer with no changes to price from last season. We’re looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of interstate and overseas visitors over the festive period,” Dodemaide said.

“The MCG continues to be the home of cricket in Australia with the Boxing Day Test the jewel in its crown.”

“On top of our commitment to keeping prices the same as last season, the MCG also offers fantastic value for families with their food and beverage prices cut since last season, with the option of bringing along their own refreshment and food always available,” he continued.

“It’s the first time in 15 years that Victorian fans have had the opportunity to watch the West Indies in Test cricket while Victoria’s Indian community created an incredible atmosphere at the ground earlier this year at the ICC Cricket World Cup that we hope will be replicated at the One Day International and T20 in January.”

For families, the value this year is even greater with the Kids for Free* offer available across the KFC T20 INTL Series and day three of every match in the Commonwealth Bank Test Series is Toyota Family Day, with a Family Pass on the day offering two free children’s tickets with two full priced adult tickets.^

Tickets for the 2015-16 International Summer of Cricket, including both of the Commonwealth Bank Test Series, the Victoria Bitter One Day International Series, and the KFC T20 INTL Series, went on sale to the public today. For more information, visit www.cricket.com.au/tickets.
