The 2017 Melbourne Stars All Abilities Cricket Carnival will be held at Casey Fields on Sunday, February 19.

Bringing together cricketers with all abilities from across Victoria to play at the one venue, the carnival will feature Ten Over Tonk and Super League divisions.

The Ten Over Tonk is a participation format that seeks to give cricketers an equal opportunity at batting, bowling and fielding using a plastic ball. Whereas cricketers wanting to participate in a more competitive setting can play hard ball cricket in the Super League’s Ten10 format.

The Melbourne All Abilities Cricket Association (MAACA) will also have its grand final at the Carnival, commencing at 9.30am.

Melbourne Stars CEO Clint Cooper said the Melbourne Stars All Abilities Cricket Carnival is a great showcase of why cricket is a game for all Victorians.

“It’s a great and spirited atmosphere and we look forward to seeing as many locals and fans as possible at Casey Fields. The carnival continues to build momentum and we’re proud to get behind the day and support this annual event,” Cooper said.

Melbourne Stars player Seb Gotch will be in attendance to meet participants and fans, along with giveaways and an appearance by Stars’ mascot Starman.

There will be a special presentation to launch the carnival at 9.00am, with the first round of matches to commence at 9.30am.

The carnival will conclude with the Super League Grand Final from 2.30pm with a medal and trophy presentation to follow at 4.00pm.

The carnival is completely free to attend and is open to the entire Victorian community.
