School Sport Victoria (SSV) are searching for talented youngsters to be nominated by schools for the state Under 12 cricket trials.
Nominations are now open for the School Sport Victoria U12 cricket team trials and are due to close on March 2, ahead of the School Sports Australia National Championships in Bunbury, Western Australia from December 12 - 19.
Schools are encouraged to nominate skilled girls and boys born between 2006 and 2007 for the trials. Trials will be held from March 12-29, across 16 regions within Victoria. Following the close of the nomination period, students will be notified of their trial date and venue.
Schools are permitted to nominate no more than three boys for the trials, and each of these boys must be playing club cricket to be deemed eligible. There is no limit for female nominations for the SSV U12 side, and schools are encouraged to nominate as many girls as possible.
Up to 3 students from each region will be nominated to progress through to the SSV squad and attend the first training session in the July school holidays after their initial trials. This session will be conducted by the SSV team coaches, manager and support staff. Through the four official squad sessions, a team of 13 players will be selected for the National Championships in December.
Get your nominations in now to ensure children from your school get the opportunity to try out for their state.
