Ballam Park CC (Submitted by Gary Hofert)

I love my Club because it is a place to go where everyone regardless of ability, race or religion is warmly welcome. It is a place to go where you have a sense of belonging. It is a place where kids learn life skills, such as respect, discipline and playing cricket in the right spirit. It's a place I can go with my two boys and know that other people will care and teach them about the great game of cricket. I love my club as I know it brings so much enjoyment to so many people in our community.

Balnarring CC (Submitted by Michael Griese)

I love my Club because it is so much more than just a place to play cricket. It's a place where men and boys from 11 to 60 can talk openly, safely & freely about themselves, their family, lives and most importantly their problems. We share a common bond (a love for cricket) and that amazingly empowers us to be able to open up and discuss personal matters that would otherwise be kept inside to eat away and potentially cause pain. Men struggle to open up and we are proud that we have created a place at our club where it is welcomed, safe & encouraged.

Baxter CC (Submitted by Rebecca Uccello)

I love my Club because everyone makes me feel so comfortable to be there. Being a male dominated sport it could be a boys club but everyone at Baxter encourages partners and especially children to come down and join in.  I can take my children down there on either training nights or game day and i'm rest assured that someone will be actively looking after my kids whilst i'm helping in the canteen.  It is where both my husband and i and also our kids have made life long friends.  We love summer because of cricket season!!

Bentleigh CC (Submitted by Matt Thorp)

I love my Club because of its history and its ability to involve everyone.  My club is over 100 years old and is made up of more than 250 members ranging from 5 years of age to 90 years.  It continues to invest in its youth and prides itself on being a family orientated club.  It's a place where everyone is welcome, where new friends are made and relationships formed. It's a place where after years of being away, you can come back and be made to always feel welcome.  I love my club because it's Bentleigh Cricket Club.

Boronia CC (Submitted by Connor McIntyre)

I love my Club because our club organises  T20 cricket matches so that the juniors can get a chance to play on turf. It is something all the juniors look forward to and sometimes we have 'mo's and afros' day where all the players and the coaches have to come dressed up with either a moustache or an afro hair style. It is a great day with a BBQ and we all get to play with our mates!

Carisbrook CC (Submitted by Ben Huismann)

I love my Club because it is a safe, family friendly environment where all ages, and both genders can enjoy the fantastic game of cricket.  It gets us all out enjoying the summer weather and helps us stay fit and healthy. My Cricket Club gets fathers playing along-side sons, promotes mateship, and has great junior facilities where both boys and girls have the oppertunity to participate and improve their skills in the game we all love. Without my local Cricket Club the Australian Summer just would not be the same.

Caroline Springs CC (Submitted by Vanessa Pereira)

I love my Club because although we are a relatively young club we have the best volunteers who are extremely supportive of the players and members.  We have 10 junior teams and 3 senior teams and each year we are fortunate to have a number of people volunteer to support these teams and fill all roles required.  One of the most pleasing aspects of the Club has been the personal growth of those that have volunteered with the club.  Some of the initiatives that the club has developed is a Women's Pathway Program and a Junior-to-Senior Development Program that ensures the sustainability of the club.

Cheltenham Park CC (Submitted by Karen Dunn)

I love my Club becuase it has to do with the people and our shared love of cricket.  We have a vibrant group of parents and children who enjoy gathering together, in picturesque surroundings, every Friday night for our MILO in2CRICKET and Junior training.  There are old fashioned community values at CPCC with tremendous support from Senior players and committee who want nothing more than for us to grow as a club and be successful.  Just 2 years ago we fielded our first junior side in over 20 years and have a milo program with nearly 90 children.  We count the days to next season!

Churchill CC (Submitted by Wayne Reynolds)

I love my Club because our players and supporters never cease to amaze me. We are a small club and struggle to field our third eleven most weeks yet they raised more money than any other club in the country for the McGrath Foundation on Pink Stumps Day. People in the local shops were asking where to buy our special pink shirts. That feeling of community spirit in the name of a good cause is why I love my club and why I will gladly continue to serve the club and strengthen those community bonds.

Gunbower United CC (Submitted by Dustine Barnes)

I love my Club because it is a club dedicated to enjoying the game. We play cricket keenly, with respect to our opponents and to the game. We never give in! That’s the Gunbower Spirit. We are Good Sports registered and welcome into our fold all who love the game no matter what their skill level. We conduct yearly charity matches for the benefit of the Alfred Hospital’s physiotherapy department. After a hard days cricket there is nothing better than sitting back with team mates and reliving the great deeds of the day (and of days past), it’s that sort of club.

Kilcunda Bass CC (Submitted by Barbara Oates)

I love my Club because it brings communities together. With no major town nearby and limited local activities we encourage children to participate in cricket . We promote good sportsmanship with our team leaders encouraging all members to take part in all aspects of the game. Playing, scoring or just picking up witches hats at training, jobs are done with enthusiasium and gives the oldest adult to the youngest kids a sense of worth. It is important in developing club spirit that everyone feel important whether your an A grader or a little kid who does MILO in2CRICKET.

Kyabram CC (Submitted by Judy Nelson)

I love my Club because it encourages a family atmosphere.  We have always encourgaed our juniors into senior ranks. This past season has been very trying for our club as our home ground had a makeover -Sept 2010 and we had to relocate to another ground - 15min drive  to Merrigum. We had to ressurect the ground and our members worked tirelessly and we finally had a temporary home.  The council assured us we would be back on our ground after Christmas, but sadly this did not happen.  The loss of reveue to our club was enormous.

Mentone CC (Submitted by Lachlan Quinn)

I love my Club because it provides an environment built on family support for 120 years. In 2002 our Junior program was non existent, through a lack of volunteers and senior assistance. Through the leadership and hard work of two life members whose children have come through the junior program, we rebuilt the juniors from just two 8 year old boys in the first season, to the position that it is in today with 5 junior sides, including four under 16 boys who played Seniors last season. It is this dedication & selflessness that demonstrates why I love my club, a true family club.

Nichols Point CC (Submitted by Kel Liddle)

I love my Club because it includes people of all ages, cultures, men and women, boys and girls and their families. Our tiny 3 team club almost folded after 115 years. Then people got busy again. More juniors  came along and we went from one kids team to six. Then the Cook Islanders came along and we grew to three senior mens and one womens team. Then Milo happened for us. The local primary school got on board creating a junior academy with us. Now we're the fourth biggest club in the district.  We work hard, we love it!

Parkdale CC (Submitted by Glen Murdoch)

I love my Club because I started at Parkdale 30 Years ago. When I lost my Mother at 18 Parkdale was my support network. When I got married all of the men standing beside me were from parkdale, we have love like  Brothers. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but we are always one big family.... There is something special that happens behind the walls at parkdale, it will always be much greater than the sum of its parts,  I'll be 53 when my boy is old enough to play his first senior game in the 2 blues.... I'll be playing right there with him.

Point Cook CC (Submitted by Wayne Jones)

I love my Club because I have seen  the club grow from 2 teams in the 1970s with no clubrooms, and only trees for shelter to a large club with 10 junior and four senior teams with clubrooms and because we are now in a growth area we are able to attract a large number of new players from in2CRICKET up to turf grade and give players of all standards a chance to enjoy the sport of cricket.

St Andrews CC in Hamilton (Submitted by Jeff Heeps)

I love my Club because it is a place that caters for all age groups, and welcomes family involvement in teams and in social activities. This past season we began a new U'12 team which will be fed by our very popular MILO in2CRICKET program. Then the pathway continues into our U'14 and U'16 teams. Many of these players can also take part in one of our Senior teams. There is a lot of encouragement and support to develop our junior players into keen senior cricketers. Our committed leadership promotes appropriate codes of conduct and aims to develop better people in our community.

Tyabb CC (Submitted by Brad Hodgins)

I love my Club because we were established in 1892, making us one of the oldest clubs in Australia.  We are based in a small community, surrounded by much larger clubs, but we have always held our own over the years.  I'm part of a hard-working committee that has promoted junior cricket hevily, and we are slowly starting to reap the rewards, with some of our kids playing rep cricket and playing in our 1stXI.  We help in many community events, so we really are "the people's club".  I am a fourth generation player at Tyabb and I love my club!
