We are seeking a progressive General Manager Communication and Government Relations expert who is ready to make a difference and can hit the ground running. In this position you will be able to demonstrate your skills and set the agenda for PR, Communications and Government Relations for Cricket Victoria. This is a great opportunity to make this job your own! This position reports to the directly to the CEO. This position has one direct report.
You will have a tertiary qualification in Communications/PR and experience working in Public Relations, Communications and Government Relations preferably in a sporting environment, along with a proven ability to write, design, implement and review innovative communication initiatives. In addition to this, you will have exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to develop relationships with all stakeholders.
Ideally you will have worked as a Communications and Government Relations Manager and are ready to take the next step to General Manager. You will be energetic, outgoing and able to bring with you a network of relevant contacts.
The General Manager Communications and Government Relations is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, promoting and significantly improving both internal and external Public Relations and Communications strategies and responsible, with key CV personnel, for relations with Government at all levels and other related bodies.
The role will be responsible for the coordination of Government issues assessment and management, and liaising on this activity with Cricket Australia and with other major professional sports.
The role will also include media and issues management relating to the Victorian State teams and players, the business of CV generally, as well as implementing public affairs initiatives, professional writing and print production.

Sports Development Program Teacher

Cricket Victoria, in conjunction with SEDA (Sports Education and Development Australia) provide quality Sports Development Programs that link education, sport and training.
We have initiated a secondary education and training program that provides qualifications within the VCE, Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning and VET sector. We are seeking teachers to deliver to students in across Melbourne.
Duties of this position include:
- Teaching Certificates III and IV in Sport and Recreation leading to a Diploma of Sport (Development)
- Teaching Units in an applied learning setting with a focus on cricket
- Linking with Cricket Victoria Staff and partner community organisations
To be successful you will have:
- Current VIT Registration
- Experience in delivering sport and recreation/physical education programs
- Experience in liaising with sporting organisations and community groups
- Be self motivated and a self starter
Whilst experience in the following areas would be an advantage:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
- Qualifications within Sport and Recreation at a tertiary level
- Experience in teaching / mentoring at a Year 11 and 12 level

Cricket Victoria supports Work Experience placements and views them as not only a chance for young people to grow and develop, but also an opportunity to promote cricket in community and careers in the Sport and Recreation Industry.
With Cricket being one of Australia's favourite sports, there is an overwhelming demand for Work Experience placements with Cricket Victoria. Only limited places for Work Experience are available as we also run a Sports Development Program which incorporates a large Work Experience component.
