RESEARCH DOCUMENT 'PRE-BALL ROUTINES'
This document has been prepared by Andrew Larratt, Senior Officer, Education & Training for Cricket Australia.
This paper presents the research findings on pre-ball routines and the common thread shown among successful players and coaches.
Routines are used in every sport to different degrees with the key element of success being players' consistent performance over a long period of time under varying conditions.
The purpose of this paper is to identify the core components of successful routines and thus develop a formula into which all players can plug their own characteristics in order to develop an individual routine.
