Metlink Community Cricket Day

Metlink’s first community cricket day for season 2009/10 was successfully held on Sunday November 15 at Caulfield Cricket Club.

Over 100 boys and girls learned about the benefits of public transport and were put through various cricket drills by students from the Cricket Victoria Sports Development Program, receiving expert coaching from DEC Victorian Bushrangers Rob Quiney, Bryce McGain and Glenn Maxwell, and DEC VicSpirit stars Kathleen Hempenstall and Briana Binch.

It was great to have DEC Victorian Bushrangers Head Coach Greg Shipperd also in attendance, watching his young son Dylan – a member of the Caulfield CC U/11 team - going through his paces.

The highlight of the day was definitely the chance to test bowling speeds against the speed gun, and the signed David Hussey bat presented to one lucky boy, courtesy of Metlink!

Make sure you click here to register for the upcoming Metlink Mega Clinic at the mighty MCG on January 12, or our final Metlink Community Cricket Day at Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club on January 21!
