Multicultural Cricket

Cricket Victoria's established multicultural program caters for diverse cultural groups throughout the State. Cricket Victoria presents communities with the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle and social engagement through participation opportunities in its multicultural cricket program.

Through Harmony in Cricket, Cricket Victoria maintains the philosophy that cricket is a game for everyone, regardless of cultural background. The valued support of VicHealth and clubs throughout Victoria allow Cricket Victoria's multicultural cricket programs to flourish.

 Australia Day Goes GLoBALL

This year, the Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Renegades joined forces with the Essendon Football Club to participate in the annual GLoBALL Australia Day event. Four GLoBALL participants were selected to join in some cricket fun and play with the sporting elite. Check out the photos from the day below!

GLoBALL

Cricket Victoria and Essendon Football Club have joined forces to provide opportunities for new arrival migrants, refugees and international students to interact with the broader Victorian community through cricket and football.

In 2010 Cricket Victoria offered over 4000 free tickets for new arrival communities to attend their first cricket match, hosted by a local Victorian cricket fan.

If you would like to host new arrivals at their first cricket or football match, or are a new arrival yourself, click here to register for the program.

Multicultural Cricket Camp

The Multicultural Cricket Camp provides an opportunity for new arrival communities to learn about the Victorian and Australian pathway for represenative cricket.

Cricket Victoria has identied many talented young cricketers from new arrival migrant and refugee communities. Many of these talented cricketers are unfamiliar with pathways to representative cricket.

The Multicultural Cricket Camp provides access to Cricket Victoria's elite coaches to learn about preparing for representative cricket, and for parents to learn how to support their child's access to the representative pathway.

The Multicultural Cricket Camp targets 8-12 year olds to prepare and develop young cricketers (male and female)  for trials and selection.

Cricket Victoria is currently scouting and recruiting young cricketers for the one day camp in late November 2011.

To register your son or daughter for the Multicultural Cricket Camp, please contact Stephanie Newton on   03 9653 1172   or at snewton@cricketvictoria.com.au
