Rochester United Cricket Club requires a Playing/Non-Playing Coach for Season 2008/09
Coaching Position Vacancy 2008 / 2009 Season
Rochester is a small country town in Northern Victoria situated centrally between Echuca (20mins), Shepparton (45mins) & Bendigo (45mins). We play in Campaspe Cricket Association fielding 3 senior teams and 2 junior teams.
In recent history our senior sides have made many finals appearances since the amalgamation of the Rochester & Echuca Associations in 1986 with our under 16's side winning 5 premierships since 1993. Boasting some of the best young talent in the competition, we have regularly provided the association with representative players for Country Week tournaments.
Our club has been a breeding ground for quality young cricketers and this is reflected by 14 past and present players winning the top award in there respective grades. Our current "A Grade" captain celebrated a magnificent season by being awarded joint winner of the 2007/2008 Association "Cricketer of the Year"
Over the past 3 years we have developed our training facilities to match some of the best in Country Victoria. Our recently erected clubroom provides a hub for players, officials and supporters to meet and compliments the family orientated atmosphere we are continuing to improve.
To improve our on field performance we would prefer to recruit a playing coach to bolster our senior side for the upcoming season but a Non playing coach would be considered. Ultimately the successful applicant would be able to bring new talent, stimulate and inspire our young playing group to help them reach there full potential.
The successful applicant for the Coaching position would be expected to:
„« Develop and implement pre-season training schedules.
„« Assist and Inspire players at all levels with personal improvement
„« Assist with individual coaching during training, particularly to the younger senior players.
„« Be able to attend training a minimum 1 night per week.
„« Be able to help develop the leadership qualities of our senior list.
„« Ensure that players at all levels enjoy their cricket.
„« Have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
„« Participate in social club activities
„« Support and assist the committee
„« Uphold and Instill the Spirit of cricket
Remuneration will be negotiated with the right candidate. Accommodation arrangements may also be made available on game day if required.
