Retention Of Participants
When discussing recruitment of new players, it is important not to forget the retention of existing participants. This may entail participants returning to the Program for their second or third year or more importantly; taking the step into junior cricket. A few ideas to help ensure in2CRICKET participants return to the game of cricket:
Mail out
By sending a letter to parents at the beginning of the season, they can be reminded about the season commencing as well as the options available for their children; whether this be continuing with the in2CRICKET Program or moving through into junior cricket.
in2CRICKET Have-A-Game
in2CRICKET HAGame has been developed as the progressive program for participants of the in2CRICKET HAGo program. Kids who have been in in2CRICKET HAGo for 2 or more years are eligible to participate in the in2CRICKET HAGame program. With more advanced equipment and skill activities to learn, Clubs are welcome to apply to use the in2CRICKET HAGame program as a way of retaining their participants. (However, this will be subject to approval from the in2CRICKET State Manager)
Creation of Underage Competitions
Provide participants with a pathway. Retention is for cricket not just for the in2CRICKET Programs. Think about what opportunities currently exist within your Club or Association for players to move through the ranks. Is it time for an under 10 cricket competition in your association or region?
