MAXIMISE THE VICTORIAN COMMUNITY'S INTEREST IN CRICKET
Victorians are renowned sportslovers and their affinity for cricket is long-standing. In an increasingly diverse and evolving community, we will strive to ensure the interest in our game is not only maintained but enhanced within all of its sectors.
PERFORMANCE TARGETS TO 2011
- International match attendance 20% higher over four-year Ashes cycle
- State match attendance 25% higher over four-year period
- Pay TV ratings for Bushrangers games increase each year
- Spectator event ratings are strongly favourable, measured by research
- Bushrangers, VicSpirit brands and top three stars of each team are widely recognised and respected, measured by research
- Cricket Victoria websites attract 100% more page views
MAIN SUPPORTING STRATEGIES:
- Work with Cricket Australia and government to:
Optimise the international and state playing calendar- Protect and strengthen the Boxing Day Test
- Reinvigorate Melbourne One Day Internationals
- Maximise the potential of Twenty20 (international and state)
- Focus on creating outstanding customer experiences and events, and broadening the reach of cricket
- Use player appearances, active media communication and targeted promotion to increase the presence of Bushrangers and VicSpirit in Cricket Victoria programs, the community and media
- Build quality and profile of the Lindsay Hassett Club and other Cricket Victoria hospitality initiatives
- Measure brand position and event presentation through annual research
