 ENSURE FIRST-CLASS GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF VICTORIAN AND AUSTRALIAN CRICKET

For Victorian cricket to prosper, the game needs to be in good hands. Strong leadership and a meaningful connection to participants, fans and our key stakeholders will help set us on the path to become the leading cricket state.

 

 

PERFORMANCE TARGETS TO 2011

  • Victoria is the leading state in Australian cricket by 2011 measured by:
    • Performance benchmarking across states
    • Leadership at national level, e.g. leadership of key Cricket Australia initiatives by Cricket Victoria representatives
    • Satisfaction of staff and stakeholders
  • Effective database established enabling direct communication with Victorian cricket stakeholders, including players, coaches, umpires, administrators
    and fans
  • All other strategic performance targets achieved

MAIN SUPPORTING STRATEGIES:

  • Strive to be the leading State in Australian cricket across all areas of operation and actively benchmark Victoria's performance
  • Work with members, affiliates and stakeholders to improve structure, communication and decision-making processes of Victorian cricket, which includes:
    • Maximising role of RCMs as links to regional boards and associations
    • Continuing implementation of the ‘Towards 2020' report recommendations
    • Other initiatives as appropriate
  • Retain and attract top class directors to the Cricket Victoria Board
  • BRINGING CRICKET TO ALL VICTORIANSWork constructively with Cricket Australia in the best interests of Victorian and Australian cricket
  • Maintain highest ethical and governance standards at Cricket Victoria, and a culture of openness and excellence
  • Attract, develop and retain the best possible staff, and achieve consistently high satisfaction levels
  • Continually improve the efficiency of all Cricket Victoria's operations
  • Use IT across the business to improve administration, communication and promotion, and align with Cricket Australia's national IT strategy
  • In particular, obtain an accurate and detailed understanding of cricket's players, coaches, umpires, administrators, fans and resources through creation of comprehensive database
