Street Cricket

Street CricketIn partnership with Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia, the Grampians CC initiated a concept in Dunkeld that created quite a storm.

In a town of 400 people over 200 attended the final which was played between the "Old Ararat Road" team and "Corea lane" team.

The concept involves "streets" coming up with teams for the street cricket challenge and all you need is four streets to get the ball rolling.  It is a great way to "bring" neighbours together and include everyone in a game that is informal and appealing to cricketers and non cricketers.

Games can be played in backyards or at a designated open space venue with a focus on community involvement and "getting to know your neighbours".
