Umpire Accreditation

The National Umpiring Accreditation Scheme is conducted under the auspices of the Australian Cricket Board, which is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of umpire accreditation.

The Level 2 course has been developed to meet the training and education needs of:

  • Level 1 umpires seeking advancement
  • First year umpires registered with formal organisations such as umpiring groups or cricket associations
  • Level 2 umpires wishing to update
It aims to provide umpires officiating at all levels below first class with an appropriate level of competency.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be recognised through the awarding of a certificate and ID card, and your name will be registered on the ACB and Australian Sports Commission data bases of accredited umpires.

All enquiries in Victoria should be addressed to the Course Supervisor, Bob Parry on 9653 1163 or at bparry@cricketvictoria.com.au

UMPIRING ACCREDITATION COMPARISONS

Victoria continues to lead the way with its number of Accredited Umpires higher than any other State or Territory in Australia.

This is due reward for the continued efforts of around 40 Accreditation supervisors throughout Metropolitan and Regional Victoria.

Latest census figures suggest that there are currently around 1500 paid Cricket Umpires in Victoria.  This means that over 40% are now accredited and a further 600 are part way through the process.

Cricket Victoria can expect to have over 900 Accredited officials by the end of 2008.
