Women's Country Cup

This years Women's Country Cup (WCC) sees an new region entering in the SE Country Sharks. The Sharks female development over the last few years with their pathway U14 and U16 teams in particular have created a strong group of girls that are now entering a side in to the VWCA as Mornington CC. The WCC will be their first run together and give them a launching pad for season 08/09.

Gippsland are back and as always have entered a skilled and competitive side trying to take out title number four. Standing in their way will be title holders the Central Highlands who have had an amazing year taking out the State Championships at U16 and U18 level as well as Brown Hill CC winning the VWCA Premier 2s division.

The forth side is the Western Waves and although Mike and Loretta Kearney won't be there leading the side for the first time in many a year the team will be aiming to come through with some big results and make their first ever final.

With two games a day being played at Viewbank CC (Heidelberg) there will be a lot of quality cricket on display. Picking a winner will be too tough as it's one of the most competitive fields in the tournaments history.
