Cricket Victoria is saddened to learn of the passing of former Victorian First Class cricketer Donald Mathieson (Cap #568), aged 95.

Donald represented Victoria in two First Class matches during the 1953/54 season and enjoyed a distinguished Premier Cricket career with Prahran, before later playing and coaching at Ringwood.

Our thoughts are with Donald’s family, friends, @prahrancc, @ramstagram__ and the wider Victorian cricket community.

Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the renewal of our partnership with Staying Alive Health, giving affiliated clubs the opportunity to apply for a fully funded Community Heart Safe Grant valued at more than $14,995.

Successful clubs will receive:
❤️ A Rotaid fully monitored and publicly accessible AED package.
🩹 Accredited first aid training.
🤝 Ongoing support.

Together, these resources can help create a safer environment for players, coaches, volunteers and the wider community — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Grant allocations are limited, so eligible clubs are encouraged to register their interest before applications close on 30 September.
