All matches are live-streamed on www.cricket.com.au and the Cricket Australia Live App. The tournament program and fixtures can be found at www.indoor.cricket.com.au

There will be four competing divisions in the 12th edition of the series – Open Men, Open Women, Under 22 Men and Under 22 Women – with each playing a best-of-five series across three days at The Ark Sports Centre.

More than 120 players and officials from the two nations will participate in the event, and it is the only international event in Australia for indoor cricketers at Open and Youth level this year. Players will be using these matches as a springboard to push for selection in the 2017 Indoor Cricket World Cup to be held in Dubai.

Australia and New Zealand are currently ranked number one and number two in the world respectively.

Cricket Australia’s Indoor Cricket Manager, Paul Milo, is expecting three days of fierce competition.

“Some of the world’s best indoor cricketers will be in Port Macquarie for this tournament, and with the Trans-Tasman rivalry, we’re expecting a really high standard of cricket over the three days,” Milo said. “

As the only international series for Australia’s Open and Youth level indoor cricketers in 2016, the players will be looking to put their best foot forward with next year’s World Cup fast approaching.

“We’ve received great support from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in the lead-up to this tournament, and we’re confident it will be a success on court, and provide a boost to the region off the courts also.”

The series was last held in New Zealand in 2008, in which Australia produced a clean sweep across the Open Men, Open Women, 19 & Under Men and 19 & Under Women divisions.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Mayor Peter Besseling said, “The new partnership between Council and Cricket Australia will see our community enjoy three days of outstanding indoor cricket, and continues our region’s tradition as a sporting destination of choice. We wish all competitors the best of luck as they compete for Trans-Tasman bragging rights.”
