Catching up with the 2018 Volunteer Of The Year- Lori Hall

2018 Volunteer of the Year Lori Hall has been involved in cricket for almost 20 years.

The local hero is currently Junior Coordinator and Treasurer for Northerners Cricket Club, but speak with any of her fellow Club members and you’ll quickly learn Lori is always helping out in whatever way she can.

As a Junior Coordinator, Lori looks after more than 60 kids in entry level programs and junior club cricket. Lori has been heavily involved in coaching, scoring and has been happy to lend a hand when needed over her years at Northerners Cricket Club.

Lori mentioned that one of the benefits of volunteering is seeing what the club and local community gain from volunteers’ work.

“If everyone just gives a little bit of their time, it just makes the cricket club run a lot smoother and the same thing happens across the association: happy kids, happy parents and a great community.”

This year Cricket Victoria are again acknowledging the great work and shining a light on the unsung community heroes for all the work they do through the A Sport For All Awards.

A Sport for All awards give you the chance to say thanks to local heroes like Lori. We encourage everyone involved in cricket to consider nominating someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the game and inspired, motivated or supported others over the past year. It’s a fantastic way to say thank you and only takes ten minutes!

If you know anyone that you want to reward for their tireless efforts, click here to make a nomination.
