Deaf Hard of Hearing

The Victorian Men’s and Women’s Deaf teams are Victoria’s official representative sides for cricketers who are deaf or hard of hearing, proudly representing the state on the national stage.

Players are drawn from across Victoria and compete through a combination of traditional community cricket clubs and the Melbourne Deaf Cricket Club (MDCC). Established in 1880–81, the MDCC is one of Australia’s oldest deaf sporting clubs and has provided opportunities for deaf cricketers to participate, compete and thrive in the game for more than 140 years.

The MDCC welcomes new members as players, officials and volunteers. To learn more or to get involved, connect with the club via their website.

National Cricket Inclusion Championship

Victoria has a strong and consistent record at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships, with the Victorian Deaf teams regularly achieving podium finishes and national titles over the years. This sustained success reflects the depth of talent within the program, the strength of community-based pathways, and Victoria’s long-standing commitment to inclusive cricket.

In 2026, Victoria’s Deaf & Hard of Hearing Women’s team finished 2nd overall and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Men’s & Blind and Low Vision finished 3rd overall.
