Melbourne Stars run-machine Brad Hodge has reclaimed the mantle as the highest run-scorer in Twenty20 history after powering his team to a seven-wicket win against the Sydney Thunder last night.

Hodge finished unbeaten on 64 from 36 balls as he moved past West Indies gun-for-hire, Chris Gayle, into first place on the all-time run-scorers’ list with 5770.

The Thunder posted 6-155 after John Hastings (3-31) and Jackson Bird (1-17) locked down the hosts before Hodge and Matthew Wade (44 from 40 balls) steered the Stars home.
