Inaugural CV Community Open Day a Great Success

On Saturday 10 November, Cricket Victoria in conjunction with the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades hosted our first community day at our new home, the CitiPower Centre.

The open day coincided with the Toom-Nangi, Ngaga Ngarnga & Mundagat Cup, an annual Indigenous cricket match between St Kilda CC and Northcote CC which set the scene for the day and provided a fantastic opportunity to watch premier grade cricket.

Outside there was a range of activities for children and adults to take part in, including:

  • A kids zone with bowling tunnels, activity booklets and promotional giveaways
  • Woolworths Cricket Blast indoor come and try session
  • Player appearances from Victorian cricketers Jon Holland and Will Sutherland
  • Face Painting
  • A FREE sausage sizzle, hosted by our friends at Dineamic
  • Bike ‘n Blend – pedal powered smoothies
  • Guided tours of our state-of-the-art facility by our friendly staff
  • Membership hub for Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades
  • CitiPower activation including a GIF booth and promotional giveaways including sunscreen and water bottle

Cricket Victoria Head of Diversity & Community Emma Staples said:

“The Community Open Day provided us with an opportunity to open our doors and welcome everyone in the community to explore our state of the art facilities, and all the great products and programs we have on offer this season.

“We want to ensure that everyone in the community is aware of all the exciting activities coming to the CitiPower Centre this summer, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so”.
