ISEC and AGCC agree to join Cricket Southern Bayside

Inner South East Cricket (ISEC) and the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) will begin their formal integration into Cricket Southern Bayside (CSB) after ISEC and the AGCC voted unanimously in favour of the move.

The decision is a key step forward for the Melbourne Metropolitan Cricket Strategy in the region.

ISEC and AGCC competitions accounted for more than 230 local teams and 55 clubs in the wider bayside region in the 2018-19 season.

ISEC President Iain Giles said it was the right step for future growth.

“ISEC and the AGCC competitions incorporate nearly 3000 players and this result not only enhances the strength of our competitions but will deliver resources to improve and strengthen the sustainable ongoing growth of our clubs into the future,” Mr Giles said.

CSB Chairman Rod Kimmitt said the decision came off the back of two years of work.

“This is the result of two years of collaboration between the two associations and represents a clear endorsement of the opportunity to capitalise on the alignment of resources and experience,” Mr Kimmitt said.

“Since our inception in 2016, CSB has been focused on providing opportunities for cricketers and volunteers in the region to participate in cricket their way. This innovative culture clearly aligns with that of ISEC and AGCC making a partnership between the organisations ideal for ensuring our members enjoy all cricket has to offer.”

The Cricket Southern Bayside Board will now begin the process that ensures all ISEC and AGCC clubs are endorsed CSB members prior to the upcoming CSB Annual General Meeting in June.
