FAQs
Whilst T20 cricket is the shortest format played across Australian Cricket, it plays an important role developing cricketers. The shorter format encourages players to identify ways to score and restrict runs.
Due to restrictions on days available and ground access, long format cricket isn’t a viable option for the competition.
No, players may only represent one club at a time. If a person wishes to change clubs, they must obtain a transfer.
If you were played in a Premier U18s Competition in season 2025/26 and you wish to change clubs, then you would need to get a TRANSFER to do so.
Yes. Players can participate in both the VMCU carnivals and Men’s Kookaburra Premier U18s.
There are multiple avenues for higher selection in the future and playing in the Premier U18s Competition is not a pre-requisite for these selections. Depending on the player’s age as at September 1 2026, there may be opportunities to be selected in a Premier U18s Competition in the 2026/27 season or if “aged out” of the U18s Premier Competition, there may be opportunities to play in the Victorian Men’s Premier Competition whereby selection in the senior Victorian Men’s State Cricket Team is possible.
