Manhari Country Cup
The Country Cup is Cricket Victoria’s premier regional junior competition. Celebrating the best of Victoria’s Under 15 Female and Under 16 Male cricketers, the Country Cup forms a key pillar of the Victorian Talent Pathway, providing opportunities for talented regional cricketers to showcase their skills and take the next step in their development.
Strong performances in the competition can lead to selection in Cricket Victoria’s Emerging Players Programs, continuing the proud tradition of producing elite talent from country regions.
Eligibility
Players who reside and play within the regional boundaries of the six participating teams are eligible for selection in the Country Cup. The age eligibility for the Country Cup are as follows: To be eligible to be part of the Female U15s Country Cup, players must be between 12-14 years of age as at 1 September 2026.
To be eligible to be part of the Male U16s Country Cup, players must be between 14-15 years of age as of 1 September 2026.
You may also play in the U15 Marg Jennings Cup and U16 Dowling Shield if you play in the Country Cup.
Tournament Information
The competition traditionally plays matches in December. To assist with logistics an ensure the players get to play in as many matches as possible, there is usually some Sunday fixtures during November and then a full week of matches in the last week before Christmas.
The carnival matches have been played in Albury and Hamilton the past few years with the location for the boys and girls alternating each year.
The six regions which participate in the Country Cup are: Gippsland Pride, North-East Knights, Northern Rivers, Mallee Murray Suns, Western Waves, and Central Highlands.
Country Cup All Stars Program
The Country Cup All Star program is a series of matches in February and March for talented males and females in preparation for the following season’s Country Academies and Country Cup. The female squads are Under 14 and the Male squads are Under 15. These teams are selected from performances in Association Junior Representative Cricket.
