50 Year Service recipients to be up in lights at the Magellan Ashes Boxing Day Test

This will be the fourteenth consecutive season that Cricket Victoria has hosted an event for the hard working volunteers who have been nominated for a 50 Year Service Recognition award.

In 2016-17, Cricket Victoria was lucky enough to have Commonwealth Bank Bushranger Peter Siddle in attendance at the event, presenting our volunteers with their awards and also sharing some of his own stories as to how volunteers in Gippsland contributed to his own development.

Guests were also able to enjoy an afternoon viewing the Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and old foes New South Wales.

Speakers are yet to be confirmed for this season’s event, however it has been confirmed that for the first time the event will be held on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and England.

This is a great opportunity for our longest serving contributors to be honoured during a Test match. Attendees will be treated to breakfast at the MCG and granted entry for Day 3 of the Test.

The 50 Year Service awards are great recognition for those who have played, coached, officiated and administrated our great game.

Nominations for the 50 Year Service are only accepted via completion of the online form.

Nominations close on Friday 3 November.
