CV inducts six new Life Members

Cricket Victoria inducted six new Life Members during the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

Michael Findlay, Michael Walsh, Dennis Prendergast, Warren Riches, Russell Thomas and Tony Dodemaide were all bestowed the honour during the Test match.

Michael Findlay is from Dandenong Cricket Club. Michael has been a VCA/CV delegate for the better part of two decades and has spent 13 years as President of Dandenong.

Michael Walsh is from Essendon Cricket Club. Michael has been a delegate and alternate delegate to Cricket Victoria for more than a decade and has worked as a scorer at club, state and national level. In total, Michael has made a 55 year contribution to cricket.

Dennis Prendergast is from Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club. Dennis has been a delegate to the VCA/CV for nearly 30 years and President of Frankston Peninsula during the 90s and for the last ten years. He also served as President when Frankston Peninsula was part of the Subbies in the late 80s and early 90s.

Warren Riches is from the Victorian Country Cricket League on his induction to life membership. Warren has been a VCA and CV delegate since the 2001/02 season and was President of the VCCL for 16 years.

Tony Dodemaide is a former Australian Test cricketer and former CV Chief Executive. Tony, was CEO of CV for 11 years until March this year. Tony played 105 First Class Matches for Victoria in addition to his 10 Test and 24 One Day International appearances for Australia. Tony has dedicated the majority of life to cricket and reinforcing cricket’s value to the Australian community.

Russell Thomas was elected Chairman of Cricket Victoria in 2015 after joining the Board in 2009. He concluded his time as Chairman in August 2018. He has a long and distinguished connection with Camberwell Cricket Club and was the club’s delegate for nearly a decade.
