Andrew Ingleton to leave Cricket Victoria

Andrew Ingleton has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Victoria.

The Board of Cricket Victoria has accepted Mr Ingleton’s resignation. His final day with Cricket Victoria will be this Friday 30 April 2021.

After five years at Cricket Australia and three years as CEO of Cricket Victoria, Mr Ingleton believes the time is right to provide an opportunity for others to lead Victoria into the future.

Mr Ingleton has been in discussions with the Board regarding a planned departure since the start of this year.

Cricket Victoria Chair Dr David Maddocks thanked Mr Ingleton for his dedicated service to Victorian cricket and wished Mr Ingleton well as he explores new opportunities in the next phase of his career.

“At a personal level I’d like to sincerely thank Andrew for the leadership, support and passion he has invested as Chief Executive over the last three years. The season we have just completed has come with some extraordinary challenges, but the organisation is well-positioned to recover from the COVID impacts and reinvest in Victorian cricket,” Dr Maddocks said.

Mr Ingleton said “I’m proud of the on-field performance of our Big Bash clubs and our men’s and women’s state teams and believe Cricket Victoria has unearthed some future stars for Australian cricket. Off the field, the growth of young girls and women playing cricket is incredibly satisfying and we continue to see growth in junior boys’ teams as well. I’d also like to thank our major commercial partners for their belief in what Victorian cricket contributes to the community. With the long-term support of the Victorian Government and through our partnerships in the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund, Victoria leads the nation in terms of investment in community cricket facilities and infrastructure.”

“I’d like to thank the Board, senior management and staff for the opportunity to lead and work with them over the last three years. Our people are an outstanding group of dedicated professionals who are passionate about seeing cricket continue to thrive in this state,” Mr Ingleton said.

“I’d also like to extend special thanks to all of our players, coaches and support staff for their extraordinary commitment and resilience during 2020-21 to deliver a successful season, against all the odds.”

The CV Board has appointed Nick Cummins as Interim CEO.

Formerly CEO of Cricket Tasmania, Mr Cummins is currently the GM – BBL, Commercial and Marketing at CV and is well-placed to lead the organisation through the transition period.

An extensive recruitment process will be undertaken to identify the next CEO of Cricket Victoria.
