Cricket Victoria wins Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Award

Cricket Victoria's Community Cricket Department was today recognised for its efforts in breaking down boundaries through the Harmony in Cricket Program.

Taking out one of 12 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards, the video montage depicts cricket as being a game for all to enjoy regardless of cultural or physical differences.

Harmony in Cricket is a culmination of years of work and support from staff, senior management, the Cricket Victoria board and players.

In recent years, the support and funding of Vic Health has also contributed largely to developing the program and gaining wide spread exposure throughout the state.

Harmony in Cricket has also been nominated for the International Beyond Sport Awards in South Africa later this year.

A finals placement at these awards will result in Cricket Victoria being offered a grant to continue to develop and communicate the key messages of these programs to a broader audience.
