2024-25 Victorian domestic fixtures confirmed

The dawning of a new Australian domestic cricket season is upon us with Cricket Australia today unveiling the 2024/2025 men’s and women’s fixtures.

Following promising seasons last year both squads will look to continue their growth heading into the new season.

Chris Rogers’ side will kickstart it’s new campaign on Monday September 23 with a Marsh Cup clash against Tasmania at CitiPower Centre, as part of a two-game homestand where Victoria will also play host to Queensland on the Friday public holiday on September 27.

The Victorian Men’s Team will then open their Sheffield Shield account two weeks later back at home against Tasmania. The Victorian Women’s Cricket Team will begin their WNCL season with a trip to the Harbour City to face rivals NSW at North Sydney Oval on October 4 and 6.

Their first game at the CitiPower Centre is scheduled for the 20th of December against South Australia. Meanwhile, Victoria’s two WBBL teams will play their part in launching the inaugural women’s T20 Spring Challenge with the Renegades playing the Hobart Hurricanes on October 11 and the Melbourne Stars facing ACT Meteors.

General Manager of Cricket Performance, Graham Manou said: “We’re looking forward to an exciting season ahead for both our men’s and women’s Teams who have worked extremely hard over the off-season in elevating their fitness base, fine tuning their skills, strategy and strengthening team cohesion,” said Manou.

“It’s wonderful to be involved in the inaugural women’s T20 Challenge in October, which will deliver more playing opportunities for our Victorian female cricketers which is something we’re really passionate about.

“For both squads, the opportunity to put on that Victorian cap and play the game they love on two world class grounds in the CitiPower Centre and the MCG is something our players cherish. Our men’s and women’s squads are excited to represent this great cricketing community and make Victoria proud.”
