Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund open to Victoria

The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting greater access for all.

Since launching in 2018, the ACIF has contributed $6.8 million towards Victorian community cricket facility projects including new practice training nets, upgrading pavilions and redeveloping playing surfaces.

Cricket Victoria, in partnership with Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association, is committed to developing high-quality facilities that provide a welcoming environment for all players, officials, volunteers and fans.

In 2022-23, Cricket Victoria set a new record number of successful projects, with 85 cricket facilities receiving funding through the ACIF.

Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said he was proud of last year’s results and encouraged Victorian cricket stakeholders to make the most of the opportunity.

“The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund continues to be a very successful program, with $1.3 million invested in cricket facilities in our 2022-23 program,” Cummins said.

“At a national level, Victoria leads all states in terms of the number of applications received and investment that has been put back into clubs and facilities.

“Great facilities are essential in growing participation. Whether it’s revitalised nets or a pavilion given a new lease on life, these projects can have a transformative impact on a community club.”

Who can apply?

The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers, acknowledging the important role these partners play in providing and maintaining facilities for community cricket across Victoria.

Funding Categories

The ACIF provides funding in the following two categories:

Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant – Minor: $1,000 – $15,000
Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant – Major: $15,001 – $40,000

The maximum grant amount available is up to 50% of the total project cost.

Applications in excess of $40,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis under the Strategic Cricket Infrastructure Funding category. Projects under this category will generally be multi-faceted and provide a broad regional benefit for cricket.

Clubs and organisations seeking support in completing their applications are welcome to contact Cricket Victoria’s Local Government & Infrastructure Manager Callum Dean on cdean@cricketvictoria.com.au or visit the Grant Opportunities page.

Applications close on Sunday 24 March 2024.
