Melbourne’s international summer locked in as Junction Oval enters the spotlight
Cricket Victoria has welcomed the announcement of a blockbuster international schedule for Melbourne next summer, highlighted by a historic milestone for Junction Oval.
Confirmed by Cricket Australia today, the schedule features five international matches across men’s and women’s cricket, including a Men’s T20 International against England at the MCG, the traditional Boxing Day Test against New Zealand, two women’s internationals against New Zealand at Junction Oval, and the landmark 150th Anniversary Test Match against England at the MCG.
In a significant moment for the venue, Junction Oval will host international cricket for the first time, with both fixtures to be played under lights following the completion of new lighting infrastructure ahead of the 2026–27 season.
Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said the upcoming schedule reinforces Melbourne’s position as a global destination for international cricket while also marking an exciting step forward for the women’s game.
“These matches represent another fantastic summer of international cricket for Victorian fans, with the MCG once again hosting some of the game’s biggest moments, including the highly anticipated 150th Anniversary Test Match,” Cummins said.
“We’re particularly excited about the two women’s fixtures at Junction Oval, which will be played under lights for the first time. This is a significant milestone for the venue and a reflection of the continued growth and investment in women’s cricket.”

- Men’s T20I Series v England | Saturday, November 21, 2026: MCG, Melbourne, 7.15pm
- NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Series v New Zealand | Third Test: December 26–30, 2026: MCG, Melbourne, 10.30am
- NRMA Insurance Women’s T20I Series v New Zealand | Friday, February 26, 2027: Junction Oval, Melbourne, 7.15pm
- NRMA Insurance Women’s ODI Series v New Zealand | Monday, March 1, 2027: Junction Oval, Melbourne, 2.50pm
- 150th Anniversary Test Match | March 11 – 15, 2027: MCG, Melbourne, 2.00pm
