Lions and Magpies to meet in White Ball Final

Both sides finished two games clear on top after only being defeated in one match out of ten.

The Lions and Magpies are the two in-form teams in Premier Cricket at the moment, having won their past five games.

The Magpies have been led by perennial run machine Simon Hill who has amassed 367 runs, at an average of 45.88.

He has been matched by dynamic opener Chris Thewlis who has impressed state selectors with his powerful hitting that has seen him compile innings of 46 (22 balls), 51 (41), 32 (10), 57 (19) and 58 (27) this season.

The Lions’ veteran Peter Dickson has again been the key batsman for his side with 291 runs in the limited-overs matches this year.

The Lions’ strength is in their bowling line-up which includes Andrew Perrin, who earned selection for Victoria in the Toyota Futures League on the back of his white-ball form which has seen him collect 19 wickets at an average of 9.58.

Spinner Ejaaz Alavi has also been a class performer with 17 wickets while Sydney Sixers all-rounder Trent Lawford has been a key player with 13 scalps and 217 runs, including explosive innings of 51* (21), 36 (16) and 48 (16).
