Georgia Wareham is a dynamic leg‑spin bowler who came up through the Victorian pathway, beginning with Under‑15 and Under‑18 state squads before making her mark in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) for Victoria. Her breakout performances—most notably during a 2018 Under‑19 tour of South Africa where she took nine wickets, including 4/17 in a one‑day game—caught national selectors’ eyes.

By age 16 she was already playing for the Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL, earning nomination for the Young Gun Award in 2017 and winning it in 2018/ That same year, Cricket Australia handed her a full national contract ahead of the 2019–20 season.

Wareham made her international debut in September 2018: first in T20s against New Zealand, then in ODIs against Pakistan a few weeks later, before being selected for Australia’s squad at the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20. Her precise wrist spin and clever variation have been pivotal in Australia’s T20 World Cup triumphs (2018 & 2020), and in 2021 she made her Test debut against India.

Despite suffering an ACL injury during WBBL that sidelined her briefly, Wareham returned stronger—earning selection for Australia’s 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa, contributing with both ball and bat, including a maiden fifty in a T20I in Dhaka in April 2024. Today she remains a key player for Victoria, the Renegades, and Australia, with her franchise career including stints with Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the WPL.
