Meg Lanning is a celebrated Victorian and Australian cricketer who rose through the ranks of the Victoria state setup from the age of 16 to become one of the most influential captains in women’s cricket.

A right-handed top-order batter, she became Australia’s youngest-ever international centurion at just 18 years and 288 days when she scored 103* against England in her second ODI.

As captain of Australia from 2014, Lanning led the team to an extraordinary haul of trophies: five ICC Women’s T20 World Cup titles, two Women’s Cricket World Cups, and a Commonwealth Games gold medal. She holds the record for the most women’s ODI centuries (15) and was the first Australian to reach 2,000 T20I runs.

Domestically, she has been a mainstay in Victoria’s Women’s National Cricket League team and captains the Melbourne Stars in the WBBL, boasting multiple Player of the Tournament awards
