Scott Boland is a right‑arm fast‑medium bowler who has become a cornerstone for both Victoria and the Australian national team. A veteran of the Sheffield Shield since his debut in 2011-12, he earned full-time selection by the 2013-14 season and claimed the prestigious Bill Lawry Medal after helping Victoria lift the Shield in 2014-15. He was awarded Sheffield Shield Player of the Year for his outstanding 2018–19 campaign, taking 48 wickets at 19.66 and playing a crucial role in Victoria’s title win.

In February 2024, Boland surpassed Paul Reiffel to become Victoria’s all‑time leading Shield wicket‑taker-a testament to his longevity and skill. His form continued into the 2024-25 season, with regular multi‑wicket performances, including a match haul of 10-102 against NSW. 

Internationally, Boland’s career reached new heights with a memorable Test debut in December 2021 during the Ashes at the MCG, where he took 6 for 7 in England’s second innings to seal victory and earned the Mullagh Medal. He remains only the second Aboriginal man-after Jason Gillespie-to play Test cricket for Australia. He also featured in Australia’s 2023 ICC World Test Championship-winning side.
