William Sutherland is a highly regarded all‑rounder and current captain of Victoria’s first‑class and One-Day sides. A towering right‑arm medium‑fast bowler and capable lower‑order bat, he made his first‑class debut in November 2019 and notched his maiden five‑wicket haul (5/34) against Queensland in February 2020. In the 2022–23 Sheffield Shield season, Sutherland topped the wickets leaderboard for Victoria with 41 scalps, earning him the honor of captaining the team in the following season . He also captains the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL and was awarded the prestigious Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year in 2021. Sutherland made his Australian One-Day debut in February 2024, taking 2 wickets in his second match against the West Indies.
