Premier Cricket show returns to the air

The Premier Cricket Radio Show is poised to return to the air tomorrow ahead of the opening round of the season.

Hosted by John Zarb on Casey Radio 97.7FM, the show has been a staple for the past 23 years and returns to its traditional 8-9am timeslot on Saturday mornings after a brief stint on Friday nights.

A staunch supporter of Premier Cricket, Zarb runs a tight ship with plenty of high profile support each week from regulars including Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers one-day coach Simon Helmot.

With the show now streamed across the internet via www.caseyradio.com.au, Zarb boasts a loyal following, not only in Victoria, but right across the world wide web.

“I do it for the love of the game,” Zarb said earlier today.

“I enjoy the competition and cricket people are good people.

“I’ve seen a lot of changes, but it really is a young man’s game these days.”

Over the course of the 2012-13 season, St Kilda coach Adrian Jones is poised to join Zarb to dissect the Premier Cricket competition, alternating every other week with the True Blues’ Neil ‘The Hurry Master’ Schlittler.

Helmot, who doubles as the coach of the Melbourne Renegades, will also be a regular contributor on the program, while VicSpirit assistant Kent Hannam will return to discuss the state’s flagship women’s team and their fortunes in the WNCL and WT20.

Tune into the Premier Cricket Radio Show from 8-9am each Saturday on Casey Radio 97.7FM.
