Stars bow out of the SF

The Melbourne Stars' title quest in the KFC T20 Big Bash League is over after they suffered a seven-wicket loss to the Hobart Hurricanes during last night's cut-throat semi-final.

Unbeaten through the home-and-away rounds, the Stars were restricted 8-141 after winning the toss and electing to bat, with Brad Hodge top-scoring with 51 from 35 balls.

The Hurricanes chased down the target with 11 balls to spare to advance to Friday’s final against the Sydney Sixers or Perth Scorchers.
