Will Pucovski scores 4th consecutive century at U19 Championships

Victoria Metro captain Will Pucovski has scored a fourth consecutive century at the 2016-17 Under 19 National Championships in Round 5 today.

The 18-year-old has now scored 540 runs in his five innings at the tournament, at the phenomenal average of 270.

After scoring 21 in his first innings, against Tasmania, from there Pucovski has passed 100 in each of his next four innings – leading his side to four consecutive wins and top spot in Pool B ahead of the finals.

Pucovski has now strung together scores of 139 not out against Queensland, 160 not out against South Australia, 100 against the Cricket Australia XI, and today 120 not out against the Northern Territory.

The Melbourne Cricket Club product is just 29 runs away from breaking the all-time runs record at the Under 19 National Championships with three games to play. The record of 568 runs was set in the 1993-94 season by Queensland’s Jerry Cassell.

Pucovski will captain his side again today in their quarter-final against Victoria Country in Adelaide.
