Wil Parker to debut for Victoria

Monash Tigers leg spinner Wil Parker will become Victoria's fourth youngest first class debutant in the state's history as Victoria plays New South Wales at the SCG.

After Jake Fraser-McGurk became the third youngest debutant earlier in the season, Parker makes his way into the side in the absence of Jon Holland, who is sidelined with a finger injury.

It’s been a meteoric rise for the 17-year-old, who played in Victoria’s Under 19 Metro side at the Under 19 National Championships late last year and took 3-70 on his four-day Victorian Second XI debut two weeks ago.

Victoria’s Marsh Sheffield Shield fixture with New South Wales gets underway at 10.30am AEDT on Friday with a live stream of the match available at cricket.com.au.
