Woolworths Cricket Blast launches in Victoria

Over 200 school kids from nine schools took part in a Woolworths Cricket Blast School Cup in North Balwyn last week to launch the new program in Victoria.

The program gives girls and boys the opportunity to play action packed games of cricket in a fun and social setting. Every player gets a chance to bat, bowl and field in a exciting atmosphere, complete with music and dancing, just like the Big Bash.

Melbourne Stars WBBL captain Kristen Beams attended the day and was able to see first hand how fantastic the program is, especially for girls.

“I loved playing cricket when I was growing up, and I loved playing cricket at school. What I love about it now is that girls have an amazing pathway to come through. We didn’t have that when I was younger, and I can’t wait to see girls coming all the way through the pathway and having incredible experience,” Beams said.

In addition to being offered in schools, Woolworths Cricket Blast also hosts programs at Cricket Clubs throughout Victoria.

The program teaches kids hot to bat, bowl, field and catch over a minimum of six weeks, all while making news friend.

Plus, every child that registers will receive their own fully customisable Blasters pack complete with everything needed to give them a great first experience.
