All Abilities Coaching Seminar

The half-day course saw 22 coaches with a range of experience gather to hear from a group of presenters headlined by Pam Kappelides, a lecturer within the La Trobe University Centre for Sport and Social Impact.

Pam engaged participants with her thorough knowledge and expertise of intellectual disabilities, as well as providing the coaches with a range of resources that are available to assist with coaching All Abilities participants in the club environment.

Jason Mathers from Cricket Victoria spoke about his experiences and challenges faced coaching the Australian Deaf Cricket Team, while Steve Lefebvre from Moorabbin Cricket Club discussed his work engaging participants in a mainstream cricket club and establishing teams and supportive clubs personnel dedicated to people of all abilities and ages.

The seminar involved robust discussions between the coaches and the presenters, and provided a great opportunity for all involved to up-skill their knowledge about All Abilities cricket and be a part of another facet of the game.

Cricket Victoria would like to thank the Victorian Government for their support through Access for All Abilities.
