Community Sport Infrastructure Grants – Cricket Facilities now open

Community Sport Infrastructure Fund (CSIF) – Cricket Facilities – is an initiative of the Community Cricket Program: On Common Ground, a significant four-year partnership between Cricket Victoria, Cricket Australia and the Victorian Government to support cricket participation growth in Victoria.

Cricket Victoria’s General Manager, Game and Market Development, Rohan O’Neill said, “In the 2016-17 funding round of CSIF- Cricket Facilities we were pleased to see 17 cricket sites across Victoria receive a share in $1.35 million upgrading cricket nets, pavilions and grounds.

“Some of these sites included the new cricket nets at Bannockburn Cricket Club; an upgrade of the 30 year old practice nets at Colts Phelans Cricket Club in Central Goldfields; and the four cricket ovals being reconstructed at Sydney Pargeter Reserve in Endeavour Hills.

“With the Victorian Government and Cricket Australia, we look forward to supporting more cricket clubs and council partnerships in the 2017-18 funding round that will contribute to more Australians of all cultures, genders, ages and abilities playing cricket at good quality cricket facilities.”

This is a Victorian Government grant and only local councils are eligible to apply. Therefore, Victorian cricket clubs seeking funding for a CSIF for a Cricket Facilities project should contact their sport and recreation officers at their local council immediately. Please note that local councils may have their own policies, recreation plans and budgets in developing sporting facilities. Cricket Victoria advises that cricket clubs read the guidelines thoroughly prior to contacting their local council.

The full guidelines for CSIF – Cricket Facilities are available online here.

Please note that councils are required to submit project proposals to the Victorian Government by June 8, 2016.

If your project is selected by council to be submitted to a Victorian Government CSIF category, and you would like to obtain a letter of support from Cricket Victoria, please contact your Regional Cricket Manager. Please call Cricket Victoria on 03 9653 1100 if you need contact details for your local Regional Cricket Manager.
