The Growing Cricket for Girls (GCG) Fund is designed to support the growth and development of girls competitions at a community cricket level across Australia, and has made a significant impact on female participation over the past 2 years. The funding provides increased opportunities for girls to get involved in cricket and to experience a friendly and inclusive environment, which is in line with Cricket Victoria’s strategy.
The seed funding saw 137 Victorian clubs and associations awarded funding to develop Girls Cricket within their region in the 2017/18 season, and we’re looking to help more Clubs and Associations for the upcoming season.
The GCG funding is aimed at supporting community cricket associations, cricket clubs and school sporting associations to develop new girls’ competitions and grow established competitions to encourage girls to play cricket.
Applications for the Growing Cricket for Girls funding closes on 31 July.
