Regional Victoria Living Expo T20 Cup

For a seventh season, the state-wide competition will pit the top-16 clubs from across Victoria – eight metropolitan and eight country – in a knockout format before the Final is held on the hallowed turf of the MCG on February 21, 2014.

Supported by Regional Development Victoria this summer, the competition has proven to be happy hunting ground for country clubs over the years with South Caulfield becoming the first metropolitan winner last season.

Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Officer Tony Dodemaide said the chance to play on the MCG was a great incentive for any club.

“The Regional Victoria Living Expo T20 Cup is an exciting competition,” Mr Dodemaide said.

“Every cricketer dreams of winning a Final on the MCG and in February one of the remaining 16 teams will live out that dream.

“There’s some great clubs on the honour roll and will look forward to crowning another one soon.”

The competition carries a prize pool of $6000, with the winner taking home $1150 as well as the Regional Victoria Living Expo T20 Cup.

The opening round of the competition must be completed by December 19, with the quarter-finals and semi-finals to be staged by January 19 and February 9.

The 2014 Regional Victoria Living Expo is a key initiative in the Victorian Government’s strategy to drive population and investment to regional and rural Victoria.

The 2014 event will be the third year of the Expo and will run from April 11 to 13 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
